Hello!

Summer is drawing to a close and our growing season will be over in a few short months. This means that sometime soon - your local greenhouses will have lots of perennial plants and trees on clearance! This is such an exciting time for me because it gets me thinking about next year's growing season.

Everyone can help the bees. From growing herbs in a pot (and letting them flower) to planting flower gardens - the bees need all the food variety they can get. YOU can make a difference for our pollinator friends. Keep a look out for these plants when you're shopping for deals in the next few weeks.

Please keep in mind that some shrubs and flowers can be invasive depending on where you are. We're located near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. You can view a comprehensive list here on the PA Dept of Conservation website. Always plant responsibly.
